Running It from Abroad: What You Need to See Every Morning

Visibility
Owners running a Venezuelan business from abroad tell almost the same story every time. The information exists, but it arrives over WhatsApp, as photos of a notebook, as screenshots, in versions that never quite agree. Control is not missing for lack of trust. It is missing because nobody has time to put that in order every day.
Start with What You Would Check in Five Minutes
You don’t need a dashboard with forty indicators. What actually changes decisions is small and very consistent:
- What came in yesterday, through which payment route, and what it compares against.
- What difference there is between what was recorded and what actually arrived.
- What moved in inventory that should not have moved.
- What is still unanswered or uncollected beyond the agreed term.
With those four checked daily, conversations with your team change register. You stop asking how things are going and start asking about one case with a name and a date.
Who Sees What
Visibility without permissions creates a different problem. We define what each role sees, who may correct a record, and what stays in the history. A figure anyone can change without leaving a trace is no use for deciding, and no use for defending the person who did their job properly.
What a Control Tower Does Not Do
It does not invent data the business does not capture today. If payments are written down by hand at the end of the day, the dashboard will show exactly that, delay included. Part of the work is deciding what is worth capturing as it happens and what can wait.
It helps you supervise and see differences sooner. It does not replace an accounting audit or guarantee that differences never happen.
